缅北禁地 Eagles

Nest Camera #1 is OFFLINE

Unfortunately, we are experiencing a technical outage with nest camera #1 that can not be fixed during nesting season — especially with eggs so close to hatching. We too are disappointed to not have both views. This is, however, why we install multiple cameras. Cam 2 and the Approach Cam are still operational, and hopefully still provide an enjoyable viewing experience.

缅北禁地’s bald eagle couple first appeared on the main campus in the spring of 2012. Since that time, they have continued to nest in the top of a tall pine tree situated between the main entrance and the parking lot of the Steven J. Cage Athletic and Recreation Center.

It is believed that the bald eagles remain in the area during the summer months and do not migrate as there is plentiful food available from lakes, the 缅北禁地 quarry and the nearby Oostanaula River. They have occasionally been sighted at or near the nest during the summer, probably to ensure that other animals know it is occupied.

A special thanks to Georgia Power for donating a truck and manpower to install our nest camera.

Our cameras are equipped with infrared (IR) technology that allows viewing at night. This light spectrum is outside the viewing range of both bald eagles and humans. When on location at night, no light source can be seen by the naked eye.
